In addition to obtaining their general veterinary degrees, all of the surgeons at the 404 have completed (at minimum) a one 1-year surgical internship and and a 3-year surgical residency to become eligible to sit the rigorous board examinations from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS). These standardized programs, similar to the focused residencies in human hospitals, ensure the highest standards are maintained when dealing with the myriad of complex procedures often performed on veterinary patients today.
Supported by the latest in advanced diagnostics and other specialties, our surgical team is experienced in all aspects of both soft-tissue and orthopedic surgery. We have the necessary training and equipment to perform specialized surgical procedures, including TPLO (tibial plateau levelling osteotomy), complicated fracture repair with internal fixation, ESF (external skeletal fixation), oncologic surgery, skin and reconstructive surgery, neurosurgery, and minimally invasive procedures (arthroscopy, laparoscopy, and thoracoscopy). In addition to ACVS board certified surgeons, the surgery team includes highly skilled, dedicated technicians and assistants.
Advanced equipment is available on-site to aid in the accurate diagnosis and effective treatment of your pet, that includes digital radiography, endoscopy and CT (computed tomography).
The surgery team stays in close communication with your family veterinarian (and specialists as needed) to provide comprehensive and coordinated care for your pet.
Consultations with the surgery service are available via referral from your primary care veterinarian. We look forward to participating in your pet’s care.
