VCA Canada Calgary North Animal Hospital is a emergency and urgent care walk-in hospital that has been serving the north Calgary communities for nearly 50 years. We have operated at our 4th Street NW location since opening in 1969. Our hospital offers a full range of services including primary care consultations, full dental care, digital radiology, in-house laboratory, endoscopy, ultrasound, full surgical services along with sophisticated anesthesia monitoring, internal medicine, intensive care monitoring, and emergency services. Along with your pet’s medical needs we offer a wide range of retail products including prescription and wellness diets, health supplements, oral hygiene products, bathing supplies and more.

We have extended hour primary care (wellness) appointments available from 8:30 AM – 10:00 PM daily to accommodate the needs of our clients and their pets. Emergency walk-ins are welcome between 7 am and 10 pm, 7 days a week. All ages, breeds, and sizes are welcome. Calgary North also treats exotic animals: reptiles, birds, and pocket pets are all welcome! We easily transact Petsecure and Trupanion insurance claims and offer financing options.

We are also part of the Distributed Veterinary Learning Community (DVLC) with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Calgary. Students gain valuable hands-on clinical, diagnostic and professional experience in the fourth year of the program in our hospital.
