Dr Saati
Dr. Saati has always felt a very deep connection with pets, deciding by age 8 that she wanted to be a veterinarian. After exploring many specialities, she discovered and fell in love with internal medicine. The diversity and uniqueness of the cases seen in internal medicine is what first appealed to her. Internal medicine also allowed her to develop a relationship with her patients and their owners as she guides them through the diagnostic and treatment steps.

Dr. Saati grew up in Montreal. After obtaining her board certification, Dr. Saati chose to settle in Ottawa with her husband. She has been practicing in Ottawa since 2018 and offers her services in English and French. She shares her home with her husband, their two young children and their dog Sherlock, a 12-year-old Shepherd.

Internal Medicine

Internal Medicine is the branch of veterinary medicine concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders involving multiple organ systems. These include various endocrine (hormonal disorders such as diabetes mellitus), respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary (kidneys and bladder), immune-mediated, infectious and liver diseases.

After evaluating the patient, the internist will make recommendations for the most appropriate diagnostic testing for the animal, in order to properly establish the condition(s) involved and to determine the possible treatment options. Some of the advanced diagnostic procedures that may be recommended include:

  • Advanced laboratory testing
  • Ultrasound
    • Abdominal
    • Chest
    • Soft Tissue
  • Ultrasound guided aspirates and biopsies
  • Digital radiographs and Fluoroscopy
  • Endoscopy
    • Digestive system
    • Respiratory system
    • Nasal Cavities
    • Urinary Bladder
  • Bone marrow evaluation and Joint Taps
  • Advanced imaging such as CT and MRI

As a part of our diverse referral clinic, the Internal Medicine service has direct access to veterinary specialists in various other disciplines ensuring the most complete approach to each patient’s medical and surgical needs.
