Stephanie Ng, Medical Director
Dr. Stephanie Ng has always aspired to be a veterinarian, beginning her career in animal care at a Cambridge veterinary clinic at just 14 years old. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph in 2000 and joined Askey Animal Hospital in 2003 after earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with distinction from the Ontario Veterinary College. Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Ng completed the Canine Osteoarthritis Case Manager Certificate Program in 2020, achieved Fear Free® Elite status in 2025, and became Senior Dog Certified® the same year. She regularly attends continuing education lectures to stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Ng enjoys the variety that general practice offers and feels privileged to have cared for many of the hospital's patients from their puppy or kitten days through their senior years. Having shared her life with a senior German shepherd with allergies and two 20-year-old cats, she has a special passion for supporting senior pets and helping itchy pets live their best lives. Currently, Dr. Ng shares her home with Hudson, a northern Manitoba mutt and honorary clinic dog. Hudson participates in agility, trick dog training and lure coursing — but his favourite activity is running on the trails.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Ng loves combining travel with hiking, cooking and enjoying good food, and hosting game nights with coworkers. Before Hudson took over her schedule, her hobbies included amigurumi (crocheting tiny animals) and horseback riding.
