Heather Macquarrie, Veterinarian

DVM

Heather spent a large part of her childhood overseas returning to Canada at the age of twelve. Heather graduated with distinction from the University of Calgary with her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2007. Heather has been working at Calgary North Animal Hospital since 2005, she started as a volunteer while in her undergraduate degree in biological sciences, from there became part of the client care team, then worked as an AHT assistant for a year while waiting for the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine to take in their inaugural Doctor of Veterinary Medicine class in 2008. In 2012, Dr. MacQuarrie graduated with distinction from the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Heather has further developed skills in her areas of interests with include diagnostic imaging and internal medicine.

Heather is a big advocate of the human animal bond, she enjoys volunteering both in Calgary and abroad to help make animals’ lives better. In her free time Heather enjoys traveling, practicing yoga and spending time with her furry family, a Snowshoe cat named Buzz and Skoki the Portuguese Water Dog; Heather is excited to give them a furry feline sister in the near future.
