George was born and grew up in the Netherlands, and decided to move to Canada, after doing some traveling with his present-day wife, around 2010. After getting his permanent residency, he decided to chase his lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian and applied for his undergrad at the University of Calgary. He recently achieved that goal and became part of the graduating UCVM Class of 2022. Personal interests are small animal soft tissue surgery, dentistry and preventative medicine.

George fell in love with the great Canadian Outdoors, and when not in the clinic you may find him camping, hiking or fly-fishing the little streams of the Foothills and Rockies, and often his rescue dog Teddy will follow along. He and his wife are still affected by the travel bug and are always planning their next trip.
