Shawn Kraft, Medical Director
Dr. Kraft shared his love for animals at an early age, caring for both farm and companion animals growing up on his family’s hobby farm.
After graduating he worked in eastern Ontario and downtown Toronto before coming to Kortright Animal Hospital. He has been the Medical Director Veterinarian at Kortright Animal Hospital since 2010.
Providing compassionate veterinary care has always been a passion for Dr. Kraft. Throughout much of his career he has continued to build on his knowledge base in areas of pet nutrition, cancer therapy, helping seniors age gracefully, hospice care for the terminally ill and multi-modal approaches to pain management. As well as an interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, Dr. Kraft is one of very few veterinarians in Ontario who is certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture.
Outside of the veterinary hospital Dr. Kraft finds pleasure in the outdoors, including working around his country home, camping, fitness training and cycling. Dr. Kraft enjoys playing and having cuddles with his 4 legged family, a great dane mix, Australian cattle dog, 3 adorable domestic cats and a mischievous dwarf rabbit.
