Heather Pineo, Medical Director
Heather Pineo is a native Calgarian who graduated with distinction from Saskatoon’s Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994. Heather has been a veterinarian at Marda Loop Veterinary Centre since 2007.
Heather is certified in Fear Free practice, an initiative that allows delivery of better care to patients by attending to their physical and emotional well being, reducing fear, anxiety and stress. She is the Alberta director for The Paw Project, an organization which is working toward legislation to make cat declawing illegal.
Heather’s family of five shares their home with two dogs (Flip, an AARCS rescue Lab cross and Slug, a Fur-Ever Homes rescue pug cross, three cats ( Youssarian, Saphira and Punk from MEOW Foundation) and Sammy Nella the 29 year old box turtle. She volunteers as an international level springboard and platform diving judge and sits on several boards of directors. She loves gardening, yoga and scuba diving.
