Dr. Dara Gottlieb was born and raised in Ottawa and is thrilled to return home after 13 years away! She joined the Alta Vista Animal Hospital team in April 2016 after completing a 3-year residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Gottlieb specializes in caring for the sickest patients in the hospital and thrives on providing them with the highest quality of care. She has a passion for educating and forming trusting relationships with the owners of these critically ill pets. Dr. Gottlieb’s professional interests include trauma, endocrine emergencies, and nutrition in the critically ill patient.

When not at work, Dr. Gottlieb has a busy life with her husband and their young son. She enjoys spending time with her family here in Ottawa, traveling to New York to visit family, relaxing with a good book, going on long walks, and cheering on the Ottawa Senators!
