Chris Elder, Medical Director
Dr. Elder grew up on a farm in Dundee, Quebec where his passion for animal health developed. He went on to graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College of the University of Guelph in 2005 and then pursued a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at the University of PEI. In 2006, Dr. Elder joined the Alta Vista Animal Hospital as an Emergency/ICU veterinarian. Although he loved the fast pace and variety of emergency medicine, he was drawn to the appeal of being a “family vet”, helping to nurture ongoing relationships between people and their pets. In 2012, Dr. Elder became Medical Director of VCA Canada Bayview Animal Hospital, where he has developed a special interest in dental health and surgery.
In his spare time, Dr. Elder enjoys traveling, sports, music, theater and spending quality time with friends, family and his energetic terrier, Jake.
