Sandy Lepitre, Veterinarian
With 35 years of veterinary experience, including more than 20 years at Highlands Animal Hospital as their most experienced doctor, I am excited to launch a new virtual care platform for dogs and cats. This service offers convenient video exams one day a week, allowing you to access expert care from the comfort of your home.
I have a special interest in dermatology and regularly pursue continuing education in this field. Virtual exams are especially well-suited for managing allergy cases, which often require consistent follow-ups.
My recent continuing education training in behavior problems helps me provide compassionate care for pets who find hospital visits stressful. Virtual exams can be a much less anxious experience for these sensitive pets. I can even help you start a customized behavior modification program to address more complex behavior problems. Video examples of training techniques and prescription anti-anxiety medications can help greatly in instituting these programs.
I am also passionate about senior pet care and have completed an extensive course in senior and geriatric care, earning recognition as a “Senior Dog Certified Veterinary Professional.” Virtual exams provide the time and comfort needed to focus on managing and preserving quality of life for senior pets with multiple health concerns.
Nutrition is another cornerstone of good health, yet it is often overlooked during routine visits. With my additional training in pet nutrition, I can help address a range of issues, including selecting the best diet for your pet’s unique needs, creating custom homemade diet plans, or overseeing weight loss programs.
Whether your pet needs support with allergies, behavior, senior care, or nutrition, or needs timely care to address an urgent but non emergency issue, I am here to help you provide them with the best possible care.
