Olivia Oberholster, Veterinarian

DVM

Dr. Olivia Oberholster joined Vancouver Animal Wellness Hospital in August 2022 after earning her degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary College located at the University of Guelph.

Although Olivia has spent most of her life in Canada, she is South African by birth and spent much of her childhood in game reserves and national parks immersed in the wildlife. As soon as she was able, Olivia started volunteering at her local veterinary clinic, fell in love with the profession, and has been involved in the veterinary medicine field since. From volunteering and working at local clinics to assisting veterinary pathologists at the lab, Olivia has always enjoyed being immersed in many wonderful aspects of this line of work.

Olivia has a wide variety of professional interests, some of which include preventative medicine, senior healthcare, and One Health. She is Fear-Free certified and believes in making each pet’s visit as calm and low-stress as possible. Above all, Olivia believes in working closely with clients to create treatment plans that best suit the needs of each client and their pets.

Outside of the clinic, Olivia spends a considerable amount of time playing volleyball, hiking, and enjoying winter sports. You may run into her playing beach volleyball at Spanish Banks or enjoying a nice walk in Pacific Spirit Park! She is absolutely thrilled to be joining the Vancouver Animal Wellness Hospital community and cannot wait to get to know you and your pets!
