Mark Hiebert, Medical Director
His journey in the Veterinary Profession began in pre-veterinary studies at the University of Alberta and then continued in Saskatoon at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine where he obtained his Veterinary Degree.
Prior to graduating from WCVM he spent two summers in Lethbridge, AB. One summer at the Rabies Lab at the Animal Diseases Research Institute and the following summer as a veterinary student at Green Acres Animal Hospital.
Following graduation, Dr. Hiebert returned to Dawson Creek to do mixed practice for most of 8 years. While he was there he started a branch of the BCSPCA and became involved and was elected to the BCVMA board for 5 years.
Dr. Hiebert’s career took him to Vancouver where he practiced for 2 years, primarily in feline practice, before venturing south of the border to practice for 21 years, primarily in West Hollywood, at a 24/7 GP/ER and Internal Medicine Practice.
Dr. Hiebert had been looking for an opportunity to return home to Alberta to practice. He has a large family most of whom reside in the Peace River area of northeastern BC. His parents still live on a Farm in Doe River and he has two daughters that reside in Dawson Creek with his 4 grandchildren. Dr. Hiebert has 3 children in their teens that still reside with him as well as two 11 month old black and white male cats.
When the opportunity presented in early 2021 to return to Calgary to practice, Dr. Hiebert jumped at the opportunity and is excited to be back home and to be part of a state of the art practice with VCA Canada.
