Tara Sager, Veterinarian

DVM, BSc, BA

Dr. Sager graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002, after collecting a B.Sc. in Zoology and a B.A. in Anthropology along the way. After taking a short break to have her second child, she began working at a Calgary 24 hour practice at the beginning of 2003 and was there until coming to VCA District Hospital Urgent Care in 2021. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Calgary Veterinary Medicine program.

Dr. Sager’s major interests include internal medicine/reproductive medicine and exotic animal medicine. Apart from veterinary medicine, Dr. Sager enjoys dog shows, Shotokan Karate, travel, getting out to enjoy the mountains, writing, knitting, and spending time with the zoo at home which includes five dogs, two cats, four children, three large parrots, one very patient husband, two tortoises, two geckos, one snake, two white's tree frogs and a partridge in a pear tree.
