Kaylyn Kubes, Veterinarian

BSc, DVM

Born and raised in Calgary (with a touch of Cochrane), Dr. Kaylyn Kubes has always been drawn to animals, science, and the deep connections we share with our pets. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Cellular, Molecular, and Microbial Biology with a concentration in Microbiology from the University of Calgary before completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon.

Dr. Kubes’ veterinary interests include behavior medicine - especially working with anxious and reactive pets - along with toxicology, urgent care, exotics, surgery, pathology, and the human-animal bond. She sees all cats and dogs, as well as some pocket pets, reptiles, and birds (call us to find out more about her exotics coverage).

Before veterinary school, Dr. Kubes gained diverse experience from researching multiple sclerosis in a clinical neuroscience lab to coaching five-year-old soccer players (both being an adventure in patience and energy). She also volunteered with exotic animals in high school, including caring for a veiled chameleon named Murphy.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kubes enjoys painting and drawing, staying active through soccer, hiking, and yoga, and spending time with family, friends, her partner, and her four rescue cats - Milo, Harvey, Millie, and Oliver.
