Karla has been in the veterinary field since 2011, starting with a veterinary assistant diploma in 2012 and then graduating as a registered veterinary technologist in 2016 with honours. For several years she worked as a neurology RVT, mainly doing anesthesia for neurosurgery and diagnostic procedures such as spine and brain MRI. She has experience in multiple areas including general practice and specialty medicine (neurology, surgery and internal medicine). Her main interests include anesthesia, advanced imaging, fear free handling, hands free radiology and mental health awareness for veterinary staff.

Her main priority is to make sure all of her patients are comfortable and is very thankful for all of the patients she's had to help over the 12+ years. Outside of work her interests include running (ultra-marathons and marathons), drawing, backpacking and listening to oldies music.
