Cherie has always been an animal lover and knew she wanted to work in an animal related field. In high school she spent time helping with animal rescues and working at a pet store before attending the University of Guelph. In 2011 she graduated from the University of Guelph with her BSc. in Biology and shortly after attended the Georgian College for Veterinary Technician program. In 2013 she graduated from Georgian College and travelled to South Africa to continue her work with various rescue organizations. Once she returned from South Africa she spent some time working in general practice clinics as well as in research before joining the Emergency/ICU team at the 404. In 2019 she accepted the job of Inventory and Equipment manager and has been settled in this role ever since.

In her spare time Cherie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring new trails with her 11 year old Australian Cattle dog Kia, and running her pet & family photography business.
