Regina Zurita, Veterinarian
Her career has spanned a wide range of species, from dogs and cats to horses, marine mammals, and zoo animals. She began her professional journey as a zoo veterinarian in 2006, working with various species, particularly sea lions. After moving to Canada in 2007, she completed an externship at Alta Vista Animal Hospital, where she trained alongside specialists before officially joining the hospital that same year. Over the years, she has taken on multiple roles, including working in the emergency department, before transitioning to her current position in General Practice, where she finds great fulfillment in building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners throughout every stage of a pet’s life. She values the continuity of care while still utilizing her experience in emergency medicine and surgery when needed.
Dr. Zurita values the multi-disciplinary environment at Alta Vista Animal Hospital, which fosters collaboration with ER veterinarians and specialists ensuring comprehensive patient care.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, she takes pride in offering veterinary care to a diverse clientele, ensuring Spanish-speaking clients feel informed and supported.
Outside of work, she loves being a mom to her two wonderful children and cherishes traveling with them. Music is a big part of her life, and she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, her beloved Field Spaniel and two cats.
