FAQ
Q: What if I found the stray after hours?
A: If you are unable to house the stray until the appropriate location is open, you can bring them to any 24-hour hospital in the city.

Q: This stray seems very seriously ill or injured and your clinic is closer, can I come there?
A: Yes. If you truly feel that it is a serious situation, then please take the stray to the closest 24-hour veterinary facility.

Q: What happens if I come to your clinic with a stray before seeing this information?
A: We will redirect you to the information above requesting you take the stray directly to the appropriate facility. The locations listed above are more likely to be contacted by people looking for their pets, and most 24 hour hospitals need to reserve their kennels for sick pets.

Q: Do I need to call Calgary Animal Services or Calgary Humane Society before taking the stray there?
A: No call is necessary.

Q: Can I keep the stray?
A: No. Many pets now have microchips to help locate the owners and we want pets to be reunited with their families whenever possible. If you are interested in adoption should the rightful owner not be found, then you can relay this when you drop the stray off to the correct facility. There are currently many pets available through adoption.
