Kathleen Bowman, Veterinarian

DVM

Dr. Kathleen Bowman grew up in Toronto and started volunteering at Mount Pleasant when she was sixteen years old. After receiving her IB diploma from The York School, she completed her undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax and ventured further east still for vet school at University College Dublin in Ireland. During her third year of vet school, when classes went online due to the pandemic, she returned to Mount Pleasant as a receptionist before her final year rotations. After graduating, she worked as a vet in a small animal practice in Dublin for one year where she saw cats, dogs, and the occasional bird before returning to Toronto.

Kathleen has always had great interest in all creatures great and small, ever since having had the James Herriot books read to her as a small child. Growing up, she had an orange tabby named Cooper. Her current pet is a very friendly lab mix named Piper.

Kathleen has a particular fondness for large, silly dogs, classical music, cycling, and Taylor Swift. Clinically, her special interests include gastroenterology and oncology. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, riding horses, chess, fitness, and playing the piano.
