In an Emergency

We are available for emergencies and urgent care during our regular business hours.  Should your pet require immediate medical attention after our regular hours, please contact our main telephone number 250-339-2026. We are part of the the Comox Valley On-Call-Group and you will be directed to an answering service who will put you in touch with the on-call veterinarian - this on call service is available Monday - Thursday, 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm only.

You may be directed to go to another clinic if our veterinarians are not on call. Therefore, please do not drive to our hospital until you have spoken to the veterinarian on call - he or she will direct you which clinic to drive to.

• • If possible, please bring any medications your pet is currently receiving with you to the appointment.

• • It is very important that you stay off your phone after placing an emergency call, so the veterinarian can reach you!

• • The clinic your pet may have been referred to will notify us of your pet's emergency as soon as possible during regular business hours. If feasible, we will re-assume further care then if necessary.

• • Patients requiring intensive care and constant supervision outside regular hours may need to be referred to a facility that has a veterinarian present day and night.

• • Outside of the hours listed above, you will be referred to the Central Island Veterinary Emergency Hospital in Nanaimo.
