24/7 Emergency Care

York Region 24/7 Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital

24/7/365 – no appointment required

At VCA Canada 404, we know that emergencies don’t always happen on weekends or after supper on a weeknight.  While your primary care veterinarian is always your first point of contact when such an emergency arises, we are here, available to see you and your pet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year, when you need us.  As one of the only 24/7 veterinary emergency & referral facilities in York Region, our emergency service takes no holidays!

Supported by our own team of veterinary specialists

One of our emergency service’s most valuable assets is its association with our referral/specialty department. It is all one hospital, no fragmented ownership – all of us under one common banner with one common mission – to help the people and pets of York Region. Our emergency veterinarians work alongside our board-certified specialists and have access to the advanced diagnostic equipment that comes with them - ultrasound, digital radiography (x-rays), endoscopy (important in foreign body retrievals), and computed tomography (CT), just to name a few. Our digital radiography and CT images can be sent for interpretation by board-certified veterinary radiologists 24/7/365 with STAT interpretation available within 30min.

Advanced diagnostics such as CT, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital radiography all on-site

We are one of very few veterinary hospitals in North America, the only veterinary hospital in Canada in fact, to offer rapid, detailed imaging via a 64-slice CT (computed tomography) unit.   Our CT is available for use by both our emergency service around the clock, as well as our various specialty departments.
