Dr. Hagenlocker (Dr. Beth) has worked in feline practice for over 20 years. She founded The Cat Practice in Los Angeles, CA in 2008 after working as an associate in other feline-only hospitals.
Dr. Beth is a 2000 graduate of Michigan State University where she assisted with research on feline lower urinary tract disease and FIV. She completed a fellowship in veterinary nutrition at University of California/Davis and is certified in veterinary acupuncture.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Beth has worked as a technical services veterinarian for Abaxis and Pfizer Animal Health (now Zoetis). She is also a facilitator in the American Veterinary Medical Association’s communications program and leads improv-based workshops for veterinary teams.
Dr. Beth has a special interest in internal medicine and the role of husbandry in a cat’s overall health. She enjoys collaborating with clients to make sure they are well-informed and can be proactive about their cat’s health care.
When she is not at work, Dr. Beth volunteers with a nonprofit that teaches improv to K-12 students. She also enjoys learning about landscape design, weaving, and hiking. She and her husband share their home with two found cats, Penny and Snug.
