Kathleen Mickie, Veterinarian

Kathleen is very excited to join the team at Central Saanich Animal Hospital. Kathleen grew up in Ladner, and fell in love with Victoria during the completion of her Bachelor of Science at the University of Victoria. She was originally introduced to veterinary medicine through Dr. Dave Huff at the Vancouver Aquarium at age 5 and has wanted to join this amazing profession ever since. In 2012, Kathleen was accepted into the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, where for the next 4 years she would pursue her dreams of becoming a veterinarian.

Kathleen has a keen interest in exotics including pocket pets, reptiles and birds. She also has special interests in behaviour, surgery and rehabilitation. Kathleen lives with her partner, Braden, a pianist, and her young golden retriever, Kindle. When she is not working, or reading about recent exotics research, Kathleen likes to spend her time horseback riding, SCUBA diving, singing, traveling, camping and playing wheelchair basketball (as an able-bodied player). Recently she has started playing hockey, and would love to rekindle her passion for carpentry.
