Dr. Ethan Yip was born and raised right here in Port Moody. He travelled across the globe to pursue his passion, graduating with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Sydney.
After working in mixed animal practice for a year, Dr. Ethan completed a rigorous 1.5-year rotating internship at the prestigious Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) in Australia, gaining advanced experience in emergency and referral medicine. He then spent three years in private small animal practice down under before happily returning home to Canada in 2024.
Dr. Ethan’s primary clinical goal is to maximize the quality of life for all his patients while nurturing the invaluable bond between pets and their families. He holds a special interest in ophthalmology and neurology.
At home, Dr. Ethan is kept on his toes by a wonderfully "spicy" furry family: Kalbee, an excitable Shiba Inu, and Peanut, a hilariously spicy but needy rescued domestic shorthair cat. Outside of the clinic, he stays high energy by training for triathlons, playing tennis, playing electric guitar, and hitting the karaoke stage. However, he still claims his absolute favourite hobbies are long walks on the beach, spending quality time with his mom and writing tasteful poetry.
