Dr. Vanessa Burghart is a 2013 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College and joined VCA Lakeshore Animal Hospital shortly after graduation. In addition, she earned a Masters of Science in 2009 and Bachelor of Biological Science in 2008. Dr. Vanessa is currently the Medical Director at VCA Lakeshore Animal Hospital and an Area Medical Director for additional VCA clinics in the Toronto area.
She is passionate about dentistry and feline medicine; Fear Free and mentoring are among some of her other special interests. Dr. Vanessa led her clinic and team to become Cat Friendly certified and accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association.
In addition, Dr. Vanessa enjoys working with local and international communities in her free time. She has worked alongside VCA to provide vaccinations and diets to pets with limited access. As well, Vanessa has participated with Mission Rabies multiple times in India and Cambodia to assist with vaccinating dogs against Rabies to reduce human infections.
Outside of the clinic, she enjoys travelling and exploring the outdoors with her husband, Mike, young daughter, Ava, and little Pug mix, Emee.
