Dr. Shum grew up in Singapore and dreamt of pursuing a career in veterinary medicine from a young age. After moving to Canada, she worked at animal hospitals/shelters and later obtained her degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She does not currently have any furry friends at home but is looking to add one to the family soon. During her time off, Dr. Shum enjoys spending time with friends and family. Being able to witness the human-animal bond is one of the best parts of her job and Dr. Shum is very passionate about delivering individualized care to all her patients. Dr. Shum speaks English as well as conversational Cantonese.
