Dr. Rachel Barker was born and raised in beautiful British Columbia. From a young age, she dreamed of becoming a veterinarian, a passion that led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Biomedical Physiology, at Simon Fraser University. After completing her undergraduate studies in 2017, Rachel moved to London, England, where she studied veterinary medicine at the prestigious Royal Veterinary College, graduating with honours in 2021. Following veterinary school, Dr. Barker completed an internship in Emergency & Critical Care at Canada West Veterinary Specialists in Vancouver, BC in 2022. She then worked as an emergency veterinarian before transitioning to general practice. Her special interests include emergency medicine and diagnostic imaging, areas where she continually strives to expand her expertise.
In her spare time, Dr. Barker enjoys traveling, riding her horse, Spicy, and spending time with her two beloved cats, Ted and Potato. Dr. Barker provides compassionate and comprehensive care to all her patients. She looks forward to meeting you and your furry friends!
