Maria knew she loved animals and wanted to be a veterinarian as she grew up caring for all her childhood pets, including dogs, rabbits, turtles and a budgie! Maria then began at the University of Guelph getting her Bachelor's degree in biology, before beginning veterinary school at the Ontario Veterinary College. Within veterinary medicine Maria enjoys caring for senior pets, pain control, and emergency medicine.

When not at work, Maria can be found spending time with family, friends, and her toothless rescue Chihuahua Poppy! Her hobbies include reading, travelling, swimming, and skiing.
