Dr. Atilla went to vet school at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 2004, cum laude. She did a small animal rotating internship at Cornell University and then went on to do a residency in small animal surgery at Auburn University and obtained her Master’s of Science there as well. She became boarded by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2011. Dr. Atilla moved to Calgary in 2011 to join the C.A.R.E. Centre team. In 2013, she transitioned to the University of Calgary Veterinary Medicine Faculty.
She currently has 2 furry 4 legged boys, 2 minimally hairy human boys and a husband. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, photography, and spending time outside. Clinically, her areas of interest and expertise are soft tissue surgery (especially cardiothoracic, gastrointestinal, hepatic/biliary, and urinary surgery) as well as oncologic, orthopedic and neurosurgery.
