Shauna graduated from Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops in 1998 and brings over two decades of diverse veterinary experience to the Medical Oncology team at VCA Canada Central Victoria. She began her career in Victoria, working in mixed animal and equine general practice, before moving to Calgary to pursue specialty medicine. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of specialty departments including Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, and Diagnostic Imaging.

Shauna is passionate about animal care and brings a calm, compassionate presence to both patients and their families. She has a soft spot for all creatures and believes strongly in the power of the human-animal bond. In her personal time, Shauna shares her life with her spouse Justin and their three dogs. She also provides animal-assisted activities in the community with her certified therapy dog, Moro. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Shauna enjoys hiking and backpacking, and is always on the lookout for new trails to explore.
