Your first appointment is a chance for us to meet you and your pet, learn their unique needs, and complete a thorough health check. It also sets the foundation for ongoing wellness care that can help protect them from future illness.
During your pet’s first visit, your veterinary team will take time to get to know your pet and review their overall health. Your wellness check may include a nose-to-tail exam and a discussion about your pet’s skin and coat, eyes and ears, teeth and gums, heart and lungs, and other key areas, depending on your pet’s needs. They may also check for fleas, ticks, or other external parasites and ask questions about your pet’s diet, daily habits, and lifestyle. Together, you’ll discuss key aspects of ongoing care.
Be sure to ask your veterinary team about CareClub, our preventive care plans designed to make routine care easier and more predictable throughout the year.
Your first visit is an excellent opportunity to ask questions and start a conversation about your pet’s health. If you have questions about your pet’s breed, behaviour, or any health
concerns, your veterinary team is here to help. Some hereditary conditions are not always obvious, so sharing what you know can support early awareness and care.
This is also a good time to ask for guidance on everyday topics such as nutrition, training, exercise, and preventive care. Before you leave, your team may recommend next steps or a follow-up visit to help keep your pet on track.
If you have any questions before your appointment, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to welcoming you and your pet.
