CRITICAL SITUATIONS REQUIRE SPECIALIZED CARE
Our intensive care unit (ICU) provides support for animals with a variety of conditions. Our patients include those with uncontrolled diabetes, pancreatitis, heart failure, kidney failure, as well as those who have suffered a traumatic event. The ICU also helps to stabilize animals before surgery and to keep them stable and comfortable after surgery. The ICU has advanced and specialized equipment for monitoring and practices multi-modal pain management to ensure your pet’s comfort.

Critical patients require our undivided attention as their status can change in an instant. The ICU offers you and your pets a high staff to patient ratio so that your pet can receive the attention and care they require.

We offer additional services including blood transfusions for both dogs and cats, advanced nutritional options, continuous monitoring of heart rate, heart rhythm, blood pressure, and oxygen status. We have oxygen units available for every animal and the ICU is equipped with a state of the art mechanical ventilator should a patient have a life threatening respiratory emergency.
