Dara McQueen, Veterinarian
Initially drawn to emergency medicine during her veterinary education, Dr. McQueen found her true calling in general practice during her fourth-year rotations. She cherishes the opportunity to build lasting relationships with both pets and their owners, forming bonds based on trust and care. For her, there’s nothing more fulfilling than being surrounded by animals and contributing to their well-being.
A hands-on practitioner, Dr. McQueen finds great joy in performing surgeries and dental procedures. She is a strong advocate for preventative care, emphasizing the importance of wellness exams, vaccinations, deworming, and regular bloodwork to maintain our pets' health.
Dr. McQueen is dedicated to being a voice for animals who cannot advocate for themselves and enjoys collaborating with clients to ensure their pets receive the best possible care. Her commitment to community health is evident from her participation in the Tsuu T’ina vaccine clinic in 2018-2019 and her involvement in providing wellness services and surgeries to the Stoney Nakoda community during her studies.
At her previous clinic, Dr. McQueen was actively engaged in programs that offered low-cost and no-cost spay and neuter services to various rescue organizations, including Pause4Change and the Meow Foundation. Her passion for shelter medicine drives her to seek out opportunities to help animals in need.
We are excited to have Dr. McQueen join our team and look forward to the wonderful care she will provide to our clients and their beloved pets!
