Dr. Elise Boller is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) with over 20 years of clinical and mentoring experience. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University in 2001, then completed a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania.

She spent the next 16 years in academia—first at Penn, then at the Melbourne Veterinary School (MVS) in Australia—where she served as Associate Professor in ECC, led the ECC residency training program, and chaired the MVS DVM Curriculum Review Committee. Over her career, she has trained and mentored hundreds of veterinary learners, from students to interns and residents.

She’s known for combining advanced medical knowledge with a compassionate, clear approach that helps pet owners feel supported and informed—especially during stressful situations. She believes in partnering closely with families, making sure they understand every step of their pet’s care and feel supported through difficult decisions.

Dr. Boller also holds a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Teaching from the University of Melbourne and is currently the ACVECC Director of Educational Initiatives.

Outside of work, she enjoys life on Vancouver Island with her family of four plus a dog, a horse, a bearded dragon, and a western hognose snake.
