Dr Elise Boller is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care with 16+ years of clinical and mentoring experience. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2001 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. After a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Pennsylvania, she spent two years in private practice, and then returned to the Penn where she served as a Criticalist in the Intensive Care Unit for the five years preceding her 2012-2021 appointment with the Melbourne Veterinary School. At MVS, she was an Associate Professor in ECC, led the ECC residency training program and served as the Chair of the MVS DVM Curriculum Review Committee. Over her career, she has participated in the training of 25+ residents and has mentored dozens of students, interns and other academics. She completed the University of Melbourne Graduate Diploma in Clinical Teaching and serves on the AAVMC Competency-Based Veterinary Education Catalyze working group. She now lives, plays and works in private practice in the Pacific Northwest on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.
