Carolyn graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Georgian College in Orillia, Ontario, with honours in 2007. Following her graduation, she promptly acquired registration with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians (OAVT) and has maintained active membership ever since. Throughout her career in veterinary medicine, Carolyn has navigated various roles, initially delving into emergency medicine before discovering her calling within the referral sector. While her experience spans numerous referral specialties, her passion lies particularly in Anesthesia and Ophthalmology.

Her journey led her to collaborate with numerous board-certified anesthesiologists at the University of Guelph - Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) for several years. The diverse caseload at OVC honed her expertise and allowed her to impart daily hands-on guidance to aspiring veterinarians. Despite the fulfillment found in this trajectory, Carolyn harboured a dream of relocating to the West Coast. Thus, when an opportunity beckoned on Vancouver Island, she seized it eagerly.

Over the past four years, Carolyn has assumed management and leadership responsibilities, playing an instrumental role in launching a surgery and ophthalmology service. These positions have empowered her to leverage her technical proficiency and dedication to fostering robust mentorship among her peers.

Beyond the confines of the clinic, Carolyn is an avid explorer of the great outdoors, often accompanied by her husband and two daughters. Her household is shared with cherished companions: Rhodesian Ridgeback Atlas, rescue canines Athena & Grit, foster-fail kitty Blizzard, and the beloved blind canary Mango.
