Jami grew up in the greater Edmonton area surrounded by pets of all types. She graduated from the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2016, and spent some time in rural Alberta before returning to the city in 2017. She has been working in small animal medicine since, and has a special interest in exotic animal medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her Golden retriever Orion, hiking, especially in the mountains, kayaking and riding horses. She is a Member of Council for the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association, and has enjoyed getting involved in her profession.
