Dr. Nikki Sereda was raised in the Chicago area, but started her veterinary education by travelling to the University of Miami to initially complete a degree in Marine Biology. Following this, she attended the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2002. After veterinary school, Nikki moved to Knoxville, Tennessee to complete a small animal internship at the University of Tennessee’s College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2003, Nikki started as a daytime triage clinician at the University of Florida’s teaching hospital, and then in 2004, moved into an internal medicine residency position at the same facility. In 2007, Nikki successfully passed her board exams and was admitted to the American College of Veterinary Internal medicine. Later that same year, she moved to the Edmonton region with her husband and has been working at the Guardian Veterinary Centre since the hospital was opened.
