Amanda Ahokas, Veterinarian

Dr. Amanda grew up in Coleman, Alberta. She attended the University of Lethbridge for her undergraduate studies and graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006.

Dr. Amanda spent her first year practicing in Fort McMurray then she and her husband moved to Nanaimo in 2007. She practiced in Parksville for 4 years and during that time was very actively involved with dog agility. She and her black lab competed at the National level in 2010. Amanda and her husband then moved to Victoria in 2011.

Dr. Amanda has been working as a regular locum at Fairfield Pet Clinic since that time with breaks to have her daughter in 2012 and son in 2015. She is passionate about dentistry and believes every animal deserves to have a pain free mouth. She also enjoys educating clients about wellness and preventative care.

When she is not at the clinic she is at her other full time job as Mom and is actively involved with the parent advisory council at her daughter’s school. The Ahokas family currently shares their home with an easy going cat named Kissa (pronounced Kee-sa) which means cat in Finnish.
