Dr. Taylor Smith is from the Edmonton area and has been an animal-lover from as far back as she can remember. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta in 2006, specializing in Evolutionary Biology. Over the following years, Dr. Taylor spent time working and volunteering in many different animal-related capacities; in small-animal clinics in the city of Edmonton, at the Valley Zoo, on a wildlife conservancy in South Africa, in a swine barn in Iowa, to name a few.
Dr. Smith entered the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the University of Calgary as part of its inaugural class in 2008. After graduating in 2012, she completed a one year internship and then went into general practice. In 2021, Dr. Smith completed her training in medical acupuncture for veterinarians and now offers acupuncture and myofascial therapy to her patients. Dr. Smith also became RECOVER CPR certified in 2024.
