Mackenzie was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She received her Bachelor of Science from Mount Royal University before pursuing her DVM at the University of Calgary. Mackenzie is passionate about diagnostics, supporting the human-animal bond, and connecting with her colleagues and patients. She chose a career in veterinary medicine to serve her community while helping animals and people.

Outside of her veterinary career, Mackenzie loves photography, hiking, scrambling, running, and backcountry camping. Her friends and family know that if she's not answering her texts, there's a good chance she's out of service in a remote area of the Canadian Rockies.

Mackenzie has a border collie / blue heeler mix named Gracie and a shepherd mix named Frankie, both of whom tag along for as many runs and hikes as possible!
