Chelsea grew up in Edmonton and went to the University of Alberta for her undergraduate and graduate degrees, a BSc and PhD, both in immunology. During her graduate studies, she spent most of her spare time running the cat program for an animal rescue. She then decided to mix her interest in science with her love of helping animals by going back to school to become a veterinarian. After graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, she was happy to move back home to Edmonton and join the team at Guardian Veterinary Centre. Over her years in rescue, she had a few foster fails that led to a small collection of cats, who have been with her ever since.
Chelsea loves emergency medicine because it allows her to help animals and their people when they need it most, no matter the time of day.
