Crysta was raised in the border city of Lloydminster before making the move to Saskatoon for her studies. She discovered an interest in emergency medicine early on in her veterinary schooling and after graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, she moved to Edmonton to join the team at Guardian.

Crysta and her husband recently settled in as official Edmontonians with the purchase of their first home. They share their home with Archie and Tilley, the carefree lovebug orange tabby and his begrudgingly-accepting-of-shenanigans big sister cattle dog.

When she’s not exploring the outdoors, Crysta can be found baking and eating sweet treats or painting.
