Dr. Francesca Di Mauro received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph in 2008 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2012. After graduating she completed a rotating small animal internship in medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic and Referral Centre, in Toronto. She spent the following year working as a full-time emergency veterinarian as well as an ER locum at several referral hospitals in the GTA. Dr. Di Mauro then moved to Ithaca, New York where she completed a 3-year residency in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals. She is a board-certified diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (DACVECC). After finishing her residency, she returned home to Canada and has been practicing as a Criticalist in the Toronto area since July 2017. Her professional areas of interest include cardiopulmonary disease, mechanical ventilation, sepsis, transfusion medicine and the use of Point-of-Care ultrasound.
Outside of work she enjoys being active, travelling and spending time with her Greyhounds ‘Wren’ and ‘Ichabod’, Pug called ‘Raisin’, and French Bulldog named ‘Arthur’.
