The TVEH Intensive Care Unit is central to our ability to provide the comprehensive care that our patients need. The ICU's board-certified criticalists work closely with our other veterinary specialists and the Emergency Service to provide 24 hour intensive care for the most critically-ill animals. Advanced equipment is used to closely monitor your pet around the clock and to deliver a complete range of critical care services. Our on-site laboratory provides rapid test results, and our board-certified radiologist is available to assist when advanced imaging is needed.

Our team of highly-trained ICU technicians are fully supported and supervised by our three Critical Care Specialists, Drs. Michael Ethier, Ainsley Boudreau and Allie Floras. All three doctors are board-certified specialists in Critical Care with extensive training and experience in critical care. With the ability to employ advanced techniques, such as mechanical ventilation, our criticalists can often effectively treat conditions and diseases that were once considered fatal or untreatable.

The ICU service accepts primary case referrals of patients 7 days per week.

We coordinate closely with your regular veterinarian to help patients that require specialized, intensive treatment, continuous monitoring, or nutritional management.
