Dr. Genovese was born and raised in the Chicago area. He graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois in 2010, then completed a small animal rotating internship at the University of Florida in 2011. This was followed by a dermatology residency at the Animal Allergy and Dermatology hospital in Virginia Beach from 2011-2014. Dr. Genovese became board-certified in veterinary dermatology in 2014.
Dr. David Genovese moved to California with his family in 2017 and has been practicing in the Bay area since then. He, along with his wife (also a veterinarian), daughter, son, English Bulldog, Chihuahua, Toy Poodle, and two guinea pigs (!!) are now looking forward to their move to Calgary and embarking on the next exciting chapter of their lives.
A few areas Dr. Genovese finds especially rewarding include the ability to control allergies safely with the use of immunotherapy, as well as managing immune-mediated skin conditions, infectious and parasitic dermatoses, and chronic ear disease.
While he enjoys all aspects of veterinary dermatology, Dr. Genovese is particularly grateful for the long-term relationships he is able to develop with pets and their owners.
