Dr. Poirier obtained her doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Montreal in 2016. She moved to Calgary in 2017 for an Emergency and Critical Care specialty internship during which time she fell in love with the Rocky mountains. Following her specialty internship, she spent 3 years at Iowa State University to complete her Emergency and Critical Care residency and became a board-certified specialist in 2022. She moved back to Calgary and has been part of the CARE Centre Emergency and Critical Care team since.
Her areas of interest include sepsis, emergent endocrine conditions, peri-operative management of surgical emergencies and transfusion medicine.
In her free time, she enjoys being outdoor (especially with her Standard Dachshunds Paco and Willow), traveling and exploring the culinary scene of Calgary!
