Erin Langlois

Credentialed Technician (Rehabilitation)

RVT, CCRP

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Erin was raised in a family that always had numerous animals in the house. Despite always saying she'd "grow up to be a vet", Erin pursued a Bachelor's of Physical Education and Recreation from the University of Alberta and graduated in 2005. Erin moved to Vancouver, BC where she fell in love with the west coast and spent the next few years coordinating and implementing various children and youth programs within community recreation settings and also aboard cruise ships. However, her love of animals and curiosity in veterinary medicine led her to change career paths in 2008.

She spent the next 10 years working in general practice, starting as Veterinary Assistant then eventually achieving her Veterinary Technician's Diploma from Thompson River's University in 2014. Along the way Erin developed a keen interest in animal rehabilitation and felt it would be a great way to combine her love of animals with her background in physical recreation. She started her studies in canine rehabilitation in 2018 through the University of Tennessee. In 2020, she moved to Victoria, BC for an opportunity work alongside Dr. Laura Romano, DVM DACVSMR and together they opened the Rehab Department at VCA Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital. In 2022, Erin completed her rehabilitation studies and became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner.

What Erin values most about her role in the Rehab Department is having the opportunity to support owners and assist patients with recovery from injury by helping to decrease pain, build strength and coordination, and ultimately improve quality of life and comfort through movement.

Outside of work Erin loves to snuggle her two cats, hike and paddleboard in warmer weather, and exercise her creativity with pottery and painting at home.
