Dr. Huffman received her honours DVM from the OVC in 1999. She has provided advanced veterinary dental specialty services as a specialist since 2005 in Ottawa and then in Southern California.

Dr. Huffman’s formal training includes academic (University of Missouri-Columbia) and private practice (Metroplex Veterinary Centre) internships.

Dr. Huffman now practices specialty veterinary dentistry within the hospital’s referral centre.

ORAL HEALTH CARE FOR YOUR PET
Dentistry offers many advanced treatments including:

ENDODONTICS
Treatment of fractured teeth/pulpitis, pulp exposure, root canals, crown reductions and tooth abscesses.

PERIODONTICS
Treatment of periodontal disease, tooth scaling and polishing, root planning, mucogingival surgery and guided tissue and bone regeneration.

ORTHODONTICS
Correction of common malocclusions, orthodontic appliances, bite evaluations, and genetic counseling.

RESTORATIONS
Cast metal crowns, fillings, aesthetic bonding, bridges and implants.

Permanent tooth assessment for puppies, dental disease, oral tumors, fractures and TMJ evaluation.

Oral manifestations of systemic disease, gingivostomatitis, canine or feline odontoclastic resorptive lesions (tooth resorption) and oral autoimmune disorders.

COLLABORATION WITH OTHER SPECIALISTS
Patients with oral health problems usually require general anesthesia for evaluation and treatment. Veterinary dental specialists also receive extensive training in the safe and effective use of anesthesia and pain management. In-hours MOVEH patients benefit from anesthetic plans designed and overseen by a board-certified anesthesiologist.
