Charlene Laprise, Edmonton Mobile Veterinarian
Dr. Charlene moved to Saskatoon with her husband in 2007 in order to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She worked at doggie daycare, where she would manage a group of up to 20 dogs. She learned a lot about dog behaviour, how to read body language and dog training while she was there. Dr. Charlene worked at the daycare for a year before realizing her dream and being admitted to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating from the WCVM in May 2012, she practiced at a Vet Clinic for a year and a half in Lethbridge, AB where she set up a behaviour consultation arm of the practice. In 2014, she moved back closer to home and settled in Beaumont, AB.
In 2016, she was excited to join the Vets to Go team. She loves mobile vet practice because it is such a different experience for the animals to be seen at their own home. Dr. Charlene has an interest in animal behaviour modification and lower stress handling techniques. In her free time she enjoys gardening, yoga and spending time with her husband David, her daughter Violet and their 3 rescue dogs; Addy (a Malamute cross), Karma (a Kelpie cross) and Ember (an American Bulldog X Pitbull).
